8 September 2017- The Association of Mechatronics Engineering (AoME) for the first time held a seminar with the topic “3D Printing Application for Engineering”. The AoME feel that 3D Printing technology needs to be highlighted because the applications can now be widely used, especially in Engineering.
Ricardo (MTE 2015), the head of event said, “This seminar gave us more knowledge of a technology that has been developed outside Indonesia. Through this seminar, we hope we can introduce Indonesians to the technology of 3D Printing.”
The seminar was open to the public and many participants from other majors, including students from other universities, such as the University of Indonesia and Sabanci University (Turkey) joined the seminar.
Mr.Brilly, as the speaker from the Eliketronics company, shared his experience of 3D Printing. He highlighted the 3D printer itself and the products of 3D Printers, gave a demonstration of how to use the 3D printer and explained the possible application of the 3D printer in many sectors.
The participants were very enthusiastic in the question and answer session that followed.
“I thought the seminar was very informative, and gave a very good insight into the applications of 3D printing technology. Although the seminar wasn’t very long in duration, I think the subject was discussed in detail. Aside from that, the seminar was also enjoyable and light. It was fun to be there. I also learned that it is in fact possible to make a 3D printer with a 3D printer!” explained Jeremy (MEE, 2016)
