On Oct 18 2018, Dr. Joachim Wink gave a short seminar at IULI on the topic of “Actinobacteria Biodiversity as Resources for novel Antibiotics at the HZI”. In this short Talk Dr. Wink Explained why it is important to continuously search for new generations of antibiotics, and that the Actinobacteria biodiversity is one of the possible pathways to discover the new antibiotics.
Students from the Department of Food Technology, Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering attended the short seminar. Among the participant were also IULI Lecturers, and researchers from the Research Center for Chemistry from the Indonesian Institute of Sciencs (LIPI).
Dr Wink is the Head of the Microbial Strain Collection Group at the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research in Braunschweig, Germany. The Seminar was attended by more than 50 participants.
