On Tuesday, 16th of October 2018, The Head of Aviation Engineering study program Mr. Neno Ruseno visited Balai Besar Kalibrasi Fasilitas Penerbangan (BBKFP) in Curug, Tangerang. It is a goverment agency that provides service to airport and air navigation provider on air navigation facility calibration both civilian and military. Scope of service include calibration, inspection, and testing equipment supporting air transport as a means of navigation, landing aids, radar and communication.
We were welcomed by Ir. I Nyoman Oka Yudarta, MFTT., the head of BBKFP. He showed us around their facilities including the aircrafts: Beechcraft King Air 200 and 350 series, Hawker Beechcraft 900 XP, Bombardier Lear Jet 31A and helicopter Bell 429; simulators: static and full motion simulators for Beechcraft King Air 200, the calibration equipment equipments.
From our conversation, there are a lot of possibilities for co-operation between Aviation Engineering IULI and BBKFP including student internship, usage of flight simulator, and research in area of air navigation calibration.
