Students of International Business Administration (IBA-batch 2015) visited @America in Pacific Place, Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 to join the toastmaster discussions. This visit was supervised by Mr. Ficky Alkarim, MSc, and in conjunction to the course in International Organization for the students of IBA.
The purpose of the visit was to learn about public speaking and the elevator speech competition as part of the audience, to learn how public speakers manage and deliver their speaking concept in a short time period, to learn how to deliver a well-organized speech in an international environment and forum, to learn how to apply well-structured speech in daily life, and to better understand American culture. Increasingly, the ability to express oneself clearly and intelligently is vital for success in the workplace.
This was such a fun and exciting learning opportunity as students can have the first-hand experience in a friendly international environment. In addition, students need to learn how to keep calm and organize their ideas under time pressure (MiE/SaP).
