7 November 2017 – In mid-2018, IULI will send off the students from its first batch to do their Research Semester in IULI’s partner university, TU-Ilmenau, Germany. In the meetings which were held on 7 November 2017, at IULI Campus 2, IULI invited all of the students (semester 1, 3 and 5) and the Parents Association to meet the representatives from TU-Ilmenau, Mr. Stephan Fischer, Prof. Bernd Hamacher and Prof. Heinrich Kern. The aim of the meetings was to explain about the research semester in Germany and to answer questions from the students and parents about what they should prepare before going to Germany, such as applying for a visa, and information about life in Germany, such as accommodation and transport.
At the moment, IULI had sixteen partner universities abroad which support it through, amongst other things, the curricula and Flying Faculty lecturers. Two from the sixteen partners provide IULI with a double degree; namely, TU-Ilmenau and Erfurt University. TU-Ilmenau provides the double degrees in the Engineering and Life Sciences Faculties, while Erfurt University provides the double degree in the Business and Social Sciences Faculty.
Overall, the meeting went very well with many questions answered. A fuller list of questions and answers will be provided in IULI FAQ on its webpage.
