Enhancing Professional Competence, Biomedical Engineering (BME) Students from Universitas Lintas Internasional Indonesia Participate in Internship at DV Medika
This internship program provides students with an opportunity to enhance their competencies, broaden their perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of the medical device industry.
Gading Serpong – August 24, 2026. Michelle Angelin Soen, a Biomedical Engineering (BME) student at Universitas Lintas Internasional Indonesia (IULI), is undertaking an internship at DV Medika. This initiative aims to enhance her academic and professional competencies through hands-on experience in the medical device industry.
Based in Tangerang and Bali, DV Medika specializes in providing medical devices and medical technology, focusing on products and services that support healthcare needs. This internship serves as a tangible example of experience-based learning, helping to produce competent and competitive Biomedical Engineering (BME) graduates from IULI who are prepared to contribute to advancing health technology in Indonesia.
The internship program, conducted from August 18, 2026, to November 25, 2026, aims to equip students with skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, alongside technical proficiency. These competencies are increasingly important for Biomedical Engineering graduates, who will serve as bridges between engineering, technology, and healthcare service requirements.
According to supervisor Patmah Fatoni, S.Si., M.Eng., the internship allows students to gain experience with various aspects of medical technology and equipment. The program also enables students to understand operational procedures, the application of safety standards, and equipment maintenance, while highlighting the importance of precision when handling technology used to support healthcare services. This strategic initiative was undertaken to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice within the global medical industry.
Meanwhile, Zahrina Mardina, Ph.D.—who supervises Biomedical Engineering students interning with product specialists—notes that the three-month internship at DV Medika offers students valuable opportunities for their future careers.
